Senion Manager, Equity Compensation

Our opportunity

The Executive Compensation team oversees the total rewards framework for Schwab’s Managing Director population, administers the equity compensation programs and deferred compensation programs and supports the Compensation Committee of the Board of Directors. 

As a Director, Equity Compensation, you will work closely with key stakeholders and business leaders to design, implement and administer all equity and deferred compensation programs.  You will report to the Managing Director of Executive Compensation. 

The role will be based at our corporate headquarters in the Dallas/Fort Worth Area (Westlake)

Key Outcomes:

  • Design, implement and administer all equity compensation programs including Schwab’s annual program, the ESPP and non-employee director equity awards.
  • Manage relationship with Stock Plan Services (stock plan administrator).
  • Advise business leaders and talent acquisition team on off-cycle equity awards including retention and new hire grants.
  • Ensure financial, tax and compliance reporting for equity plans (partnering with Payroll, Finance, and Corporate Oversight
  • Administer Deferred Compensation Plans (I and II) including deferrals, payments and educational materials.
  • Partner with the Compensation Operations team to administer the annual equity award program (i.e. Key Contributor).
  • Keep plan documents, award agreements up to date and in compliance with new regulations.
  • Manage non-employee director’s equity compensation and Form 1099-MISC process.
  • Partner with the greater HR Organization as necessary, building and strengthening relationships across the entire enterprise.

What you have


Required Experience:

  • 10+ years’ experience in executive compensation and/or equity administration for a public company at similar scale and complexity. Diversified financial services experience is preferred.
  • Strong consulting and leadership skills, including the ability to make decisions to ensure effective achievement of objectives.
  • Excellent analytical, quantitative, and cost modeling skills.
  • Undergraduate degree

Preferred Experience:

  • An exceptional communicator able to effectively persuade and influence across channels with a purpose. 
  • Able to work collaboratively with stakeholders in Compensation, HR, Talent Acquisition and the business.
  • Demonstrated resiliency with ambiguity in a fast-paced, team environment.
  • Able to identify and solve problems creatively; experience thinking beyond immediate consequences.
  • Flexibility to work in situations where there is no unique, correct answer.
  • Certified Equity Professional preferred.
