We are seeking a data savvy fixed income subject matter expert as a Senior Manager level individual contributor on the Performance Analytics team for Schwab Asset Management (SAM). In this role you will both manage analytics for fixed income funds and ETFs and provide local leadership for automation projects.
This team member is responsible for analyzing, presenting, and reporting on performance, attribution, and statistics of SAM’s investment products for internal business partners and the public. You will play a key role in delivering timely insights, supporting a data-driven culture, and protecting the accuracy of client reporting.
The Senior Manager will lead or support team initiatives while partnering with technology and product leaders to proactively improve both the quality and efficiency of the team’s reporting and data delivery.
This role will be a part of the Schwab Asset Management organization. Schwab Asset Management offers a focused lineup of proprietary ETFs, mutual funds and separately managed account strategies designed to serve the central needs of most investors. Key responsibilities include:
- Building collaborative relationships with partner organizations to establish best in class review processes, understand and address pain points, and drive value-added performance data analysis
- Being an expert in both attribution and analytical concepts related to performance data and analytics
- Seeking opportunities to provide new, valuable analytics and reporting for our products’ performance and portfolio attributes to key partners
- Uncovering opportunities to use automation to increase the efficiency and coverage of operational reporting with an unyielding focus on timeliness and accuracy
- Creating and Optimizing SQL and/or Python for reports and automation
- Excellent written and verbal communication with the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management and business teams
- Staying current with industry and functional trends and using these insights to inform team initiatives
What you have
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience within the financial services industry, ideally in investment performance reporting and analysis and/or attribution
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong collaboration skills with the ability to effectively communicate with business partners and stakeholders
- Ability to thrive in a complex, dynamic environment, demonstrating solid judgment, and organization skills
- Self-starter, detailed and analytical, with an intellectual curiosity on understanding how things work. Continuously strives to enhance workflows and processes.
- Experience with Aladdin, Bloomberg, FactSet, and Morningstar
- Technical proficiencies in Tableau, SQL, and/or Python is
- Advanced degree/designation such as an MBA, CFA, CIPM or CIMA
- Bachelor’s degree is strongly preferred
In addition to a base salary, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.
