The goal of Operational Services is to meet the needs of Workplace Services by providing the best client service possible as it relates to the recordkeeping aspects of Defined Contribution Retirement Plans. Specifically, a Specialist within Operations is responsible for following plan document rules, manage relationships with internal business partners, and ensuring absolute compliance with all regulatory requirements of ERISA Law as they apply to each process performed on the team.  Future state, this team will be transitioning to also include some direct client contact and eventually also direct beneficiary contact.  

The Specialist is expected to follow all rules and regulations that govern all aspects of determination of beneficiaries on an account and the accurate execution of splitting of the account to the beneficiaries, accurately following Qualified Domestic Relations Order (QDRO) split instructions and calculation methods, and completion of other requests received from our internal partners. This team also handles the processing of Required Minimum Distributions to all participants and beneficiaries, learning these rules and how to process will also be a responsibility within this role.  To be successful in this role a Specialist will need to be flexible in the ability to handle many different task types each day, extreme attention to detail, initiative in researching tasks, and the ability to suggest and discuss process improvements within the team. The successful candidate must have superior analytical skills, good working knowledge of Microsoft Office; Excel, Access, Word, and Copilot, as well as the ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with various departments to ensure that daily client deliverables are met.

Required Qualifications: 

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel and Word 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Exceptional organizational, analytical skills, and extremely detail oriented 
  • Ability to show initiative while meeting multiple competing deadlines
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively and professionally with various departments 
  • Creative thought process focusing on continuous process improvement 
  • Ability to interpret client and participant needs

In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.
