Schwab Retirement Network™ (SRN) serves the retirement plan needs of professional service companies, plan sponsors, and participants. The team provides consulting, plan administration, and advisory services for plans of all types and sizes. Through active engagement with plan sponsors, third party administrators (TPAs), and advisors, Schwab demonstrates its commitment to the retirement industry. By minimizing the complexities of business retirement plans for both internal and external clients, the network helps professionals navigate these challenges and ensures client confidence—whether for a one-time opportunity or an ongoing relationship.
The role focuses on consulting and advising clients, building and nurturing relationships (both internal and external), educating stakeholders, collaborating across teams, and engaging in travel for business development and client support.
Key Deliverables for a Successful Candidate:
- Retirement Plan Consulting
- Consult and advise prospective clients on retirement plan solutions based on company goals and objectives.
- Handle complex plan design conversations.
- Demonstrate understanding of the current marketplace.
- Relationship Building & Business Development
- Establish strong relationships with advisors to promote Schwab Retirement Advisor Portfolio.
- Identify, develop, and channel new business opportunities through relationships with Schwab Financial Consultants, Branch Managers, and Regional Branch Executives.
- Assist Independent Recordkeepers in establishing and developing business relationships with advisors.
- Actively identify internal partners that could benefit from SRN services.
- Education
- Educate advisors on the spectrum of retirement products available at Schwab.
- Proactively work with Recordkeeping/TPA clients to understand their business and how Schwab can help them grow.
- Collaboration & Cross-Functional Partnership
- Work with Retirement Business Services Relationship Managers and Sales Team to build and maintain working relationships with Independent Recordkeepers that utilize Charles Schwab for Custody and Trust services.
- Work closely with management on special projects as needed.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work-related experience
- A valid and active Series 7 license (may be obtained within a 120-day condition of employment)
- Minimum of two years experience in the financial services industry
- Minimum of two years experience working with retirement plans
- Knowledge of brokerage/banking products and services
- Strong client relationship building experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Responsible for prospecting, working, and closing new registered independent advisor and independent record keepers for retirement plans.
- Financial business development experience (highly preferred)
In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.
