Role:

At Schwab, we're creating best-in-class education and market commentary to help our clients become better-educated and better-informed investors.

Schwab’s Insight & Education team is seeking a Videographer/Editor to support our growing library of educational content. If you’re someone who loves the craft of filmmaking, thrives on problem solving and discovering emerging trends we want to hear from you! You’ll own projects from concept to final export—capturing striking footage, shaping tight edits, and adapting deliverables across channels (short-form, long-form, campaign, and internal/external storytelling). This role is ideal for someone who follows the latest video trends, understands what performs on social, and can still deliver cinematic quality when the moment calls for it.

What you’ll do:

  • Own the video lifecycle: pre-production planning with content producers, production, and post-production—often juggling multiple projects with fast turnarounds.
  • Shoot and direct scripted and unscripted videos, interviews, b-roll, and social-first content (in studio or on location).
  • Edit compelling videos from raw footage into polished deliverables. (Common editing tasks include assembling footage, adding sound/graphics, color correction, and revising based on feedback.)
  • Create multi-format deliverables optimized for each platform:
    • 9:16 vertical (Reels/TikTok/Shorts), 1:1, 16:9
    • Captioned exports, short form cutdowns
  • Bring trend awareness to the table—new editing styles, motion patterns, hooks, transitions, caption treatments, and storytelling approaches.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with creative, marketing, and stakeholders—translating finance topics into compelling videos
  • Maintain strong production workflows: file organization, footage management, backups, naming conventions, and handoff-ready deliverables.
  • Continuously improve our video playbook with better templates, presets, shot lists, and editing systems.

What you have

Requirements:

3+ years of hands-on experience in videography + editing (in-house, agency, production company, or freelance).

A portfolio/reel demonstrating:

  • Strong composition + lighting fundamentals
  • Clean audio, smooth pacing, and story-driven edits
  • Social-first cuts and/or campaign-level storytelling
  • Proficiency with professional editing tools—preferably Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe Photoshop
  • Experience with screen capture tools (Camtasia, Capture, Snagit)
  • Ability to manage deadlines, prioritize tasks, and communicate progress clearly (especially when timelines shift).
  • Comfort on set: directing talent, conducting interviews, and quickly adapting in the field.
  • Strong creative instincts, attention to detail, and comfort giving/receiving feedback.

Preferences:

  • Motion graphics experience—building lower thirds, overlays, adjusting keyframes, MOGRTs
  • Color grading experience (DaVinci Resolve or advanced Premiere workflows).
  • Experience producing content for brand channels with performance goals (CTR, retention, watch time).
  • Photography skills (bonus).
  • Understanding of YouTube, TikTok, and other social platforms
  • Knowledge of the markets and trading
