Charles Schwab’s Digital Wealth & Advisor Platforms (DWAP) organization is seeking a Senior Product Manager (individual contributor) to lead a strategic product domain within our Trading Platform organization. This role is responsible for translating business strategy into executable product outcomes while partnering across technology, operations, investment management, compliance, and product leadership teams.
The Senior Product Manager will own a significant product capability area, drive prioritization decisions, manage complex dependencies, and ensure delivery of scalable trading solutions that support advisors, clients, and discretionary investment programs. The ideal candidate combines deep trading and wealth management expertise with strong product leadership, stakeholder influence, and Agile execution experience.
Key Responsibilities
Product Strategy & Vision
- Own a strategic Trading Platform domain and contribute to long-term product vision, roadmap development, and investment prioritization
- Partner with Product Managers and business leaders to define product strategy and measurable business outcomes
- Evaluate business opportunities, client needs, market trends, and operational challenges to shape future platform capabilities
- Develop business cases and recommendations that drive executive decision-making
Product Ownership & Execution
- Lead backlog strategy and prioritization across one or more Agile teams
- Define and communicate product requirements, business rules, workflows, and acceptance criteria
- Drive execution from discovery through delivery, implementation, and production stabilization
- Ensure alignment between roadmap commitments, business objectives, and engineering capacity
- Serve as the primary product decision-maker for assigned capabilities
Trading Platform Leadership
- Provide subject matter expertise across trading workflows, order management, execution management, portfolio management, model implementation, rebalancing, and advisor servicing capabilities
- Lead design and implementation of platform capabilities supporting discretionary and advised investment solutions
- Partner with architecture and engineering teams to define scalable, API-first platform capabilities and integration patterns
- Drive modernization initiatives that improve trading efficiency, scalability, resiliency, and client experience
Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Leadership
- Influence senior stakeholders across Product, Technology, Operations, Risk, Compliance, Legal, and Investment Management organizations
- Facilitate alignment across multiple delivery teams and business functions to resolve competing priorities and dependencies
- Communicate product strategy, roadmap progress, risks, and tradeoffs to leadership audiences
- Build consensus and drive decisions in highly matrixed environments
Delivery, Risk & Governance
- Establish success metrics and performance indicators for product capabilities
- Identify delivery, operational, and regulatory risks and develop mitigation strategies
- Ensure solutions meet business, regulatory, resiliency, and operational expectations
- Support production incidents, escalations, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Drive release planning and execution across multiple teams and stakeholder groups
What you have
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in Product Management, with demonstrated ownership of complex digital or platform products
- Strong trading domain knowledge (e.g., order lifecycle, execution, allocations, compliance, advisor or client trading workflows)
- Proven experience delivering products using Agile / Scrum methodologies
- Exposure to AI‑enabled features or data‑driven product capabilities
- Ability to lead without authority in a highly matrixed organization
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder‑management skills
- Experience writing detailed requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with wealth management, advisory, or brokerage platforms
- Experience building or modernizing API‑driven platforms and integrations
- Familiarity with large‑scale transformation initiatives and legacy platform modernization
- Experience with Order Management Systems, trade allocation, rebalancing
In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.
