Schwab Asset Management (SAM) delivers investment solutions across mutual funds, ETFs, and separately managed accounts. Within SAM, the Sr. Manager, Trading & Trade Support – Private Markets Fund will play a critical role in supporting portfolio management, trading activities, and operational infrastructure of the Schwab Private Company Fund, ensuring seamless execution, reporting, and compliance within a registered interval fund structure.

In this role, you will partner closely with the Fund Portfolio Management team, overseeing full trade lifecycle for private market transactions (execution through settlement); manage relationships with fund administrators, custodians, auditors, and transfer agents; support interval fund operations, including subscriptions, repurchases, and liquidity management; coordinate NAV production, pricing inputs, and valuation processes; and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements under the Investment Company Act (’40 Act). Success in this role requires strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and the ability to make informed decisions in a fast-paced environment. You will help improve operational processes, support strategic initiatives, influence system enhancements, and provide expertise that enables efficient execution, risk mitigation, and scalable growth of investment strategies.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
  • 5-10 years of asset management operations experience supporting investment operations, trading, clearing, custody, asset servicing, or related functions.
  • Experience calculating, reviewing, or validating fund net asset values (NAVs) and researching variances outside established tolerance thresholds.
  • Strong understanding of the trade lifecycle, operational controls, books and records, operational risk, and issue escalation processes.
  • Demonstrated analytical thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and time-sensitive events.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience collaborating across Trading, Portfolio Management, Operations, Technology, Risk, Compliance, custodians, and brokers.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment while maintaining high levels of accuracy and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting private market or alternative asset investment strategies.
  • Experience supporting fund operations and adhering to regulatory requirements under the Investment Company Act (’40 Act), specifically Interval Funds.
  • Proficient in financial reporting, including management reports, governance committee materials, fund board reporting, and ad hoc reporting requests.
  • Ability to partner across functional teams, including portfolio management, product management, tax, trade operations, audit, and financial reporting.
  • Experience with Aladdin or similar portfolio management, order management, accounting, reconciliation, or asset-servicing platforms.

In addition to the salary range, this role is eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.
