Schwab’s Workplace Services supports retirement, stock plans and designated brokerage services for corporations and their employees. Together we’re modernizing our client and internal facing capabilities and offers for corporate Stock Plan Services (SPS) clients to be industry-leading and scalable to support our significant business growth. The SPS Digital Product Management team is looking for Senior Data Product Owner with proven agile fundamentals and experience in leading digital initiatives for SPS with a focus on enhancing our data integration capabilities both internally and for our clients.

In this role, you will be responsible for managing the coordination and delivery of data integration business and technology transformations, specifically to the modernization of the Stock Plan Services legacy batch integration application

What you’ll do

  • Partnership – Work with our team of product owners, system analysts, developers and business stakeholders in an agile environment.  You would manage the welfare of the SPS legacy batch applications of the product and release lifecycle including analyzing, defining strategy, and managing implementation of enhancements to existing and new capabilities. 
  • Client Focus – Lead and collaborate with SPS stakeholders to develop your team’s roadmap and align it with the future architecture data exchange integration platform current being developed.
  • Strategy – Use your knowledge of equity plans administration workflows and client (internal and external) data integration needs to further strengthen Schwab’s product positioning in the Equity Compensation marketplace.  Design experiments and structure evaluations of whether product solutions will be valuable, usable, feasible and viable.  Bring stakeholders and industry perspectives to refine and shape your vision.
  • Execution – Own and drive all aspects product manager responsibilities required to bring new and enhanced stock plan data integration capabilities to our internal and external data consumption clients, including the definition, creation, development, and implementation of the solutions that help us achieve our mission.

Required Qualifications:

  • Technical Product leadership experience that overlaps with a Technical Product Manager role, including directing and coordinating technical teams across Java, SSIS, .NET, Shell, and Perl environments; translating product outcomes and business requirements into clear technical priorities; understanding dependencies and tradeoffs across legacy and modern technology stacks; partnering with engineering leads on solution design and modernization sequencing; and driving delivery across development, testing, release, and production-support activities.
  • Demonstrated ability to create and maintain team roadmap(s), backlog(s), development queue(s), and deployments related to data integration application modernization as well as ongoing maintenance and support (MLO) of our legacy data integration application ecosystem.
  • Exceptional product management skills - ability to synthesize data and stakeholder feedback into insights and actions
  • 5+ years product management experience, 15+ months supporting equity plan administration and related operations
  • Superior business analysis skills, multi-tasking capabilities, and ability to troubleshoot issues
  • High attention to detail and the ability to see things through from concept to implementation
  • Ability to provide on-time delivery of project deliverables
  • Ability and desire to effectively and efficiently work in a collaborative team environment
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Agile/Scrum experience required in a Product Owner/Manager role
  • Superior ability to engage and align across the scrum team and all stakeholders (Business, Technology, Production Support, Architecture and QS resources) when setting priorities for a PI or a PI sprint.
  • Ability to own the oversight related to DoD/completion of development and testing activities for each assigned user story or product increment.
  • BA/BS degree or equivalent experience

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Development experience across these technology stacks is strongly preferred, particularly hands-on experience modernizing Java-based batch jobs and services.
  • Experience participating in cross functional projects, with an emphasis on the Schwab Stock Plan Services (SPS) business processes and data flows within the SPS eco-system

In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonuses or incentive opportunities.
