Schwab Advisor Services, the industry leader of custodial, operational, trading, product, and technology solutions for independent fee-based investment advisors (RIAs) is seeking an innovative, results-driven individual to serve as a Relationship Manager, AS Centralized Relationship Management.

The ideal candidate will cultivate and nurture client relationships with our advisors as you actively pursue opportunities to improve their level of efficiency and profitability, focusing on growth and retention. As a Relationship Manager, you will effectively coordinate with Service, Marketing, Business Consulting, and other key partners across the organization to proactively anticipate client needs and resolve situations as they occur. You will influence positive change in their organizations to support their evolving needs, as well as present policy changes, negotiate pricing, conduct business reviews, and organize client events. As the main point of contact for your assigned clients, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining meaningful relationships, positively representing Schwab’s brand and values.

  • We are seeking a Relationship Manager to assist Registered Investment Advisors grow, compete, and succeed.
  • To be successful in this role, you have demonstrated the ability to build long-term relationships, and support clients in their pursuit of business initiatives and growth.
  • You will serve as a thought partner to our advisors, help them while evaluating their options, promptly identifying internal partners to solve their problems, proactively deliver resources based on a deep understanding of their needs and ensuring advisor satisfaction.
  • You will be responsible for identifying new assets and revenue opportunities.

What you have


  • Active and valid FINRA Series 7 license required. 
  • Active and valid FINRA Series 63 license required. 
  • Ideal candidate has at least 5 years of financial services industry and RIA relationship management experience.
  • Our ideal candidate will be an ambitious self-starter; and have a shown ability to deliver excellent client service with the ability to anticipate and resolve problems under their own initiative.  
  • We are looking for someone with superior communication, presentation, interpersonal and listening skills.  
  • In-depth knowledge of Advisor Services products and services preferred or demonstrated transferable brokerage industry knowledge and/or the ability to learn the products and services with a limited learning curve.  
  • Ability to negotiate, cold call, trouble shoot, relate to people of all levels, and can think quick on your feet
  • Knowledge of all aspects of the RIA industry including technology, operations, practice management, compliance, competition, and fee
  • Excellent conflict resolution, problem-solving and interpersonal skills with ability to build lasting relationships with clients and a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work within a team.
  • Learner. Process-oriented.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
