Cost Basis Operations is dedicated to leading a culture that delivers timely cost basis research, updates and reporting services in our efforts to create a premier client experience, while providing a controlled and disciplined environment that allows our employees to feel valued and engaged.  Cost Basis Operations is under the Shared Support Services umbrella.  

As an Associate in Cost Basis Operations you will be part of a team that oversees the transmission and upkeep of cost basis data for assets transferred in and out of Schwab.  This is a fast-paced working environment where effective communication and teamwork are a must. Flexibility and adaptability are necessary, because the associate will rotate through different functions as business needs arise. Duties for this role will include, but are not limited to:

  • Daily review/sorting of incoming emails from contra firms
  • Daily communication with contra firms
  • Research across multiple systems to verify transaction information
  • Research escalations

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2 years’ experience in Operations
  • BA or BS 
  • Series 7/63

Required Qualifications:

  • Intermediate computer skills including Outlook, Excel and Word
  • This role requires strict adherence to the established policies and procedures
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment while maintaining the highest level of positivity and professionalism
  • Good decision making and sound judgment skills are a must
  • Attention to detail is key in being successful in this position
  • Requires accurate data entry skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Identify and communicate issues effectively and timely to peers and management team
  • Ability to multi-task, understand the importance of follow-through
  • Outstanding time management and organization skills

In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities
