We’re seeking a Sr. Manager, Scrum Master to serve as a servant‑leader and coach for Agile teams operating in a SAFe environment. You will facilitate core Scrum events, drive continuous improvement, and partner closely with Product, Engineering, Architecture, and Risk/Compliance to enable predictable, value‑centric delivery. You will also strengthen Agile ways of working across the ART. Improving flow, unblocking dependencies, and embedding evidence‑based practices and metrics. You will help your teams adopt and improve on the Scrum methodology. Coach your teams to higher levels of maturity by continually improving their process and ensuring that they adhere to the Scrum framework. You will serve as the Scrum framework authority for their teams and evangelize and educate their teams on, not only the process, but the benefits of following the process.
Position Responsibilities:
- Act as a Scrum Master for up to 2-3 Agile teams simultaneously.
- Provide leadership, direction and coaching to the team by encouraging them to adopt and mature good Scrum processes according to the Scrum Guide.
- Organize and facilitate effective Scrum meetings: backlog grooming, Sprint planning, daily Scrum, Sprint review, and Sprint retrospective.
- Gather, define and prioritize business requirements and ensure those requirements are clearly translated into technical specifications for feature development with PCIS development team.
- Directly engage with business and technical teams, product owners, stakeholders at various levels to implement features in PCIS applications.
- Build and maintain strong relationships and partnerships with PCIS develop team members and stakeholders.
- Work with and coach Product Owners to develop, manage, and continuously groom the team’s product backlog.
- In partnership with the Product Owner, track and communicate to Stakeholders information such as team velocity, Sprint/release progress, impediments, team successes, etc.
- In coordination with Project Managers, facilitate cross-team coordination and collaboration when projects require it.
- Assist Product Owners and Development team with planning and grooming activities.
- Servant Leadership mindset to garner respect from your teams, lead and demonstrate value-add principles with the willingness to get your hands dirty to get the job done.
- Communication and social skills to communicate well with your teams.
- A thorough understanding and appreciation for the Agile values and principles
- A good understanding of:
- Backlog grooming and relative estimating
- PI-Planning
- Release planning
- Sprint planning
- Scrum metrics such as Sprint burndown, release burnup, & velocity, etc.
- Sprint review best practices and techniques
- A variety of retrospective techniques
What you have
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree of any technology discipline
• 4+ years as a Scrum Master (or Agile Coach) with demonstrable results guiding two or more teams; hands‑on experience with SAFe ceremonies (PI Planning, ART sync, I&A).
• 2+ years of experience working with Retirement Business Services teams.
• Expertise facilitating Scrum events, improving team norms and working agreements, and coaching POs/engineers in Agile practices, flow metrics, and continuous improvement.
• Proven ability to surface, track, and retire cross‑team dependencies; strong issue/risk management and escalation skills within an ART.
• Comfortable using team/ART metrics to inform decision‑making and predictability (e.g., throughput, cycle time, stability, quality indicators).
• Clear, concise communicator able to translate process and delivery insights for technical and non‑technical audiences; strong partnership with Product and Engineering leaders.
• Excellent relationship management and mediation skills, with a knack for weighing multiple stakeholder perspectives and driving timely and effective decision-making
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications: SAFe SSM/SASM, PSM/CSM (or equivalent).
- Prior experience using Jira and/or Rally
- Experience working in a highly regulated environment
- Experience working in a financial services organization
- Comfort in a dynamic and fast-moving work environment, with a positive attitude and solid work ethic
- Experience in leading and directing a technology scrum teams
In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.
