Workplace Services Engineering is helping transform the technology that supports Schwab’s workplace financial services, including platforms serving millions of retirement plan participants. As a Software Developer IV, you’ll design and build scalable applications and services and drive modernization initiatives that strengthen platform security, stability, performance, and resilience to reduce risk and deliver seamless user experiences at scale.

You’ll apply deep full-stack development expertise to solve complex technical problems, influence application and architecture decisions, and deliver secure, reliable solutions. Working collaboratively across technology and business partners, you’ll evaluate tradeoffs, communicate recommendations, mentor teammates, and adapt as priorities and technologies evolve. Your work will directly contribute to modernizing platforms that support Schwab’s continued growth in workplace financial services.

What you have


Required Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent
  • 8+ years of full-stack web development experience
  • Experience with C#/.NET Core development
  • Designs enterprise-level services, systems, and architecture patterns, including working knowledge of Domain Driven Design.
  • Experience creating and consuming REST APIs
  • Responsive Design and Single Page Applications (SPA) expertise\
  • Experience with Angular, TypeScript, and client-side MV* frameworks
  • Experience with JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
  • Knowledge of authorization frameworks (e.g., OAuth 2, SAML, JWT)
  • Experience with SQL and Relational Databases, including integration between backend services and databases
  • Experience evaluating and improving application performance, scalability, and resilience
  • Ability to apply Problem Solving and Decision Making to complex application, performance, stability, and modernization challenges
  • Strong Communication and Collaboration skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts and influence decisions across organizational levels

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with accessibility practices for web applications
  • Experience with Unit Testing and test-driven or behavior-driven development practices
  • Ability to demonstrate Adaptability and Continuous Learning as technologies, business needs, and delivery priorities evolve
  • Experience mentoring teammates and contributing to collaborative technical decision-making
  • Understanding of Agile software development principles, including experience participating in a Scrum-based delivery team
  • A commitment to regularly improving your technical and professional skills, learning emerging technologies and growing as valued team member
  • An advocate and evangelist for availability, scaling, performance, and customer experience.

In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.
