The Portfolio Management Technology team is building a private cloud–based trading platform designed for ultra-low latency, high-volume processing, and reliability at scale. In this role, you’ll help design and deliver software that supports billions of transactions during market hours that directly enable Schwab to serve clients with consistency, speed, and trust.
You’ll collaborate closely with engineers, architects, and business partners to evaluate complex requirements, design scalable solutions, and guide technical decisions. Working in an agile, team-oriented environment, you’ll contribute hands-on while also providing technical leadership, mentoring others, and strengthening a culture where we succeed together as One Schwab.
What you have
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
- 7+ years of experience developing software in production environments using modern programming languages and frameworks
- 7+ years of experience building and maintaining applications with C# and .NET
- Demonstrated experience providing technical leadership for a team or project, including guiding design decisions and code quality
- Ability to design and support scalable, high-performance, and resilient systems that meet demanding business needs
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to analyze complex scenarios and deliver practical solutions
- 1-2 years or more of Schwab Technology domain experience gained as a current or recent contractor or employee is a must.
Preferred Qualifications
- Working experience with IBM MQ, Kafka, Aerospike (NoSQL) database, Splunk (logging), JSON/XML, PCF (Cloud), Caching, Performance Analysis & Profiling, Twelve-Factor App Methodology, Resiliency Patterns, Observability Patterns, Agile Practices etc.
- Ability to evaluate user and system requirements, clarify objectives, and communicate technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical partners
- Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs to enable reliable system integration
- Experience working with relational and document-based databases
- Experience with messaging, streaming, or event-driven architecture
