The Client Data Technology organization is comprised of teams that support Schwab business goals through the delivery of technology solutions that focus on providing enhancements and functionalities that are needed to support our corporate customer and accounts. We are seeking for a dynamic and motivated, experienced Java developer to advance our platform offerings and driving innovation.
Department's mission, purpose and vision
CCAT (Corporate Customer & Account Technology) is a tower in CDT (Client Data Technology), with a mission to establish unified customer identifier to support comprehensive 360 view of Schwab client across all line of business.
CCAT identifies the same customer across different Schwab affiliates and bring each instance under the umbrella of single Schwab Customer Identifier (SCID) that enables the enterprise to take holistic view of customer to drive more focused service and offerings.

Lead CCAT initiatives like Account Number Expansion (ANEx), Digital Asset rollout that enables the enterprise to grow and offer new capabilities to its clients.
This role sits at the intersection of velocity, ownership, and growth: you’ll work in a motivated team inside a fast paced organization where decisions are made quickly and great ideas ship.
Important duties & responsibilities
Develop and own the delivery of client-facing functionality (from Requirement analysis to production rollout) that materially advances product and business goals.
Provide technical guidance to the team of developers and support them over come implementation & delivery challenges
In this role, you will be:
Work with technical and business experts to create and support optimal production and test environment solutions
Research and development of (functional and technical specifications documents) production and test environments, architecture/design/develop solutions
Develop plans for proof of concept and validation of technology/solutions
Estimating development sizing and costs and collaborating with the Scrum Master and product owner for efficient task prioritization
Ensuring quality through automated testing and TDD and integrating SSO to interconnect various internal and external systems
Participate in strategic planning discussions with technical, business, and client stakeholders
Review programming and environment changes and raise awareness for potential impacts
Effective and efficient utilization of programming tools
Actively participate in product design and development sessions
Provide direction to less experienced Programmer/Analysts
Develop architectural diagrams/documents, develop software codes and automated test scripts
Write efficient, easy to follow technical documentation
Proactively identifying risks, establishing mitigation plans, and maintaining documentation and code quality standards
Engaging with both onshore and offshore teams to refine development practices.
What you have
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
7+ years of experience with the following: Java, Spring framework, cloud development, and Web Services (REST and SOAP) supporting high volume transactions in a Highly Available environment
3 years of experience in Distributed Databases and NoSQL databases; MongoDB, Yugabyte, PostgresSQL (preferred)
3+ years experience with DB2 and control-M.
2+ year experience working on real-time data and streaming applications
3+ years of experience with continuous build process using Bamboo, Bitbucket/Git, or similar tools
2+ years of experience with Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF), or AWS or GCP.
2+ years of experience with event-driven systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ, message queues, etc.)
3+ years of experience in Cloud deployment in a CI/CD delivery model.
2+ years of experience with batch jobs or data pipeline frameworks like Spring Batch, PySpark etc.
1+ years of Schwab domain technology experience as a current or recent contractor or employee
Knowledge of the Agile methodology and experience in an Agile working environment
Experience with the Atlassian tool stack (JIRA et alia)
Project delivery with ability to drive projects to successful completion; ability to anticipate project risks/issues and propose creative solutions.
Prior experience interfacing with various partners, including vendors, offshore development teams, and internal groups
Strong interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving, influencing, prioritization, decision- making and conflict resolution skills
Excellent written/verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience in IT Transformations and system modernization initiatives from legacy to distributed platforms; i.e. Mainframe Cobol apps/DB2 to Java apps/SQL.
Verbally delivers precise, persuasive communication for productive outcomes
Experience in Financial Services industry is a plus
Experience in Test Driven Development is a plus
