The Retail Web Technology (RWT) organization leads the development and maintenance of Schwab's premier digital platform for retail clients - individual investors just like you. We believe in the importance of in-office collaboration and fully intend for the selected candidate for this role to work on site in the specified location(s).
What you’ll do:
We are seeking a Full-Stack Engineer for the Retail Platform Engineering organization to enable the construction of world-class client experiences. In this role, you will engineer and develop horizontally impacting projects that will be used by numerous teams across Schwab.com and the Mobile app while developing the next generation of our client platform infrastructure in the Cloud. Your in-depth knowledge of front-end frameworks and APIs will pave the way to further enable our clients to Own Their Tomorrow.
As a Software Developer IV, you will engineer cutting edge tooling, libraries, and platform capabilities in support of Schwab.com’s software development and delivery teams. This role is all about getting the job done, so you have a can/will do mentality about all tasks associated with getting phenomenal code out the door. You prioritize mentoring your teammates and you ask for help when needed. What you have
- An exacting attention to detail and the talent and enthusiasm for producing highly usable and scalable web software solutions using advanced development technologies
- Confidence solving problems in a dynamic customer-focused team environment that uses the newest technologies and techniques
- Long term strategic thinking that evaluates potential use cases in the current term while emphasizing high software quality and low technical debt.
- A commitment to regularly improving your technical and professional skills, learning emerging technologies and growing as valued team member
- Proven technical and business communication skills at various organizational levels
- BA/BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent
- 6+ years of full-stack web development experience, with an emphasis on front-end development
- Skill with C#/.NET Core development
- Confidence using JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
- Familiarity with Angular, TypeScript, and client side MV* frameworks
- Responsive Design and Single Page Applications (SPA) expertise
- Familiarity with unit testing patterns (TDD/BDD) and methodologies
- Familiarity with an automation test framework (WebdriverIO, MABL, etc)
- Application performance evaluation and tuning skills
- Web Accessibility experience
- Proficiency in creating and consuming RESTful services
- Knowledge of API automation test tools such as Postman, MABL, or Bruno
- Knowledge of authorization frameworks (e.g., OAuth 2, SAML, JWT)
- Understanding of Agile software development principles, including experience participating in a Scrum-based delivery team
