We believe in the importance of in-office collaboration and fully intend for the selected candidate for this role to work on site in the specified location.
The Specialist supports Schwab Singapore clients and internal business partners across account opening, account maintenance, cashiering, documentation, and general servicing. The role reviews requests for completeness and accuracy, applies established procedures and regulatory requirements, communicates clearly with clients, and works with partner teams to resolve issues efficiently. The position requires sound judgment, attention to detail, strong service orientation, and the ability to manage changing priorities in a regulated brokerage environment.
The role independently handles routine to moderately complex requests within documented procedures and delegated authority. Matters involving exceptions, unclear documentation, elevated risk, potential regulatory impact, or material client harm must be escalated. Errors may result in financial loss, regulatory or legal exposure, operational disruption, adverse client outcomes, or reputational risk to Schwab.
Key responsibilities:
- Review and process Schwab Singapore account opening documentation, account maintenance requests, and cashiering instructions in accordance with firm procedures and applicable controls.
- Perform required client identification, due diligence, Anti-Money Laundering, sanctions, and related risk-control checks, escalating exceptions or higher-risk matters as appropriate.
- Support clients through phone, email, chat, and in-person channels, including requests relating to account applications, documentation, funding, withdrawals, account access, and general servicing.
- Notify clients and internal partners of missing information, rejected or approved requests, processing status, and required next steps in a clear, timely, and professional manner.
- Review account information and holdings before processing money movement or maintenance requests to reduce the risk of errors, debit balances, restrictions, or client impact.
- Maintain accurate records, case notes, supporting documentation, and evidence of completed reviews in approved systems.
- Partner with regional and global teams, including Compliance, Operations, Cashiering, Tax, Account Services, and business stakeholders, to resolve client and process issues.
- Follow desktop procedures, service-level expectations, quality standards, and escalation protocols while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Support special projects, remediation exercises, research requests, client events, seminars, and other business priorities when required.
