The goal of Operation Services is to meet the needs of Workplace Services by providing the best client service possible as it relates to the recordkeeping aspects of Defined Contribution Retirement Plans.

Specifically, a Sr. Specialist within PAI is responsible for accurately executing high volumes of incoming documents, researching activity, managing relationships with internal business partners, and ensuring absolute compliance with all regulatory requirements of ERISA Law.

The Sr. Specialist is expected to manage volumes of incoming checks and documents, validation of documents, and completion of other requests received from our internal partners. Position responsibilities include queue oversight, independent researching, and responding to internal partner requests, maintaining quality control and procedures, creating process improvements, and performing audit fulfillment to meet key deliverables while exceeding client and participant expectations.  Flexibility and extreme attention to detail, initiative in researching tasks, entrepreneurial spirit, and the ability to meet multiple competing deadlines is vital to success in this position. Crucial to success is the ability to shift from one process to another in a fast-paced, daily-deadline-driven environment coordinating activities of team members and processing transactions to achieve success with minimal errors.  The successful candidate must have superior analytical skills, good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Access and Word, as well as the ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with various departments to ensure that daily client deliverables are met.

Required Qualifications:

  • Work experience with retirement service or Bachelors degree
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, and Word 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • SME on all Central Services tasks with expanding ownership of tasks related to Stop Pays, ACH Rejects, Stale Checks and Access Provisioning related to systems onboarding of new employees to Operations
  • Ability to assist teammates with escalations and obstacles to complete their duties; offer solutions, find resources. Willing to be the point person for issues that come up
  • Excellent communication skills which enable you to contact business partners independently with confidence to resolve an issue or walk through a process.
  • Embracing Schwab’s Engagement Focus by being part of the solution and guiding the team while in meetings, action planning, recognition, positive interactions and encouraging others to be at their best
  • Supports leadership team by improving existing processes and procedures, provides a layer of queue oversight and provides additional research for escalated issues
  • Exceptional organizational, analytical skills, and extremely detail oriented 
  • Proven ability to collaborate and communicate effectively and professionally with various departments based upon received feedback of partners and peers
  • History of performing with a high level of quality while still able maintain high level of efficiency
  • Creative thought process with proven record of implementation of process improvements including offshore/vendor opportunities with the ability to interpret client and participant needs

In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities
