Role Overview
The Workplace Branch brings together expertise across retirement, equity compensation, financial wellness, and wealth management to create a more seamless experience for Workplace investors. The Education Consultant delivers dynamic, participant-centered financial education in group and individual settings, both onsite and virtually. The role combines financial expertise, strong facilitation, relationship building, and technology to create experiences that build trust, strengthen confidence, and inspire purposeful action.
A key part of the opportunity is helping advance Workplace-to-Retail extension initiatives. Educations Consultants serve as a trusted bridge, helping participants maximize their workplace benefits to enhance their broader financial lives. Through clear education, thoughtful discovery, and strategic calls to action, the consultant helps participants identify their next best step(s). This is done by connecting participants to Schwab tools, digital resources, and financial professionals best suited to their needs. Education remains objective and does not include personalized advice or recommendations.
What You’ll Do
- Deliver intentional education experiences: Prepare and deliver clear, relevant, and well-structured sessions aligned to plan sponsor goals, participant needs, while driving team goals.
- Make complex topics easier to understand: Translate retirement, equity compensation, investing, and financial planning concepts into concise, participant-friendly language using relevant examples, stories, and analogies.
- Build trust through engagement: Use purposeful questions, discussion prompts, polls, demonstrations, and participant responses to create an inclusive and interactive learning environment.
- Advance Retail Extension thoughtfully: Recognize participant needs beyond the workplace plan and connect education to appropriate Schwab resources, planning support, and retail solutions in a way that is participant centered.
- Strengthen the end-to-end participant journey: Meet participants where they; from building foundational habits in early career, balancing competing mid-career priorities, to preparing for the transition to retirement income by connecting them to relevant Schwab resources.
- Contribute to continuous improvement: Share feedback when materials or processes are unclear or outdated; test new approaches; and help evolve scalable education and engagement practices.
- Drive measurable business and participant outcomes: Meet performance expectations independently while supporting participant action, sponsor value, relationship deepening, and organizational growth.
