This Schwab I&O (Infrastructure and Operations) position will support our Data Centers in the Arizona region. Position responsibility will include assisting with 2nd shift technology hardware production support, planning and implementing technology space requirements; interfacing with third-party vendors (break/fix and deployment); act as the I&O point-of-contact for Facilities and Security in Critical Technology Areas; defining and monitoring hardware environmental requirements; define, maintain and manage connectivity installations within Critical Technology Areas; responsible for technology hardware asset inventory in Critical Technology Areas; vendor coordination for technology hardware recycling and disposal. The role will be primarily focused in Phoenix technology environments with potential for occasional remote responsibilities. Some travel may be required from time to time between Arizona data centers.
What you’ll do:
- Participate in project-related programming interviews across all technology platforms and facilities management groups to identify, interpret and translate IT hardware requirements from conceptual stage through deployment stage
- Translate business and technology requirements into IT space design documents
- Manage local ITAD-related functions to ensure that client data is protected and associated audit documentation is captured
- Interface with General Contractor, MEP Engineering and Architectural firms as needed to represent organization’s design requirements for IT space
- Manage our onsite vendors/contractors on a daily basis at all AZ datacenters during 2nd shift.
What you have
- Bachelor’s degree in IT related field, and/or equivalent technical experience
- Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) certification desired or any other BICSI certifications.
- Proficiency with DCIM software - preferably Nlyte.
- Broad practical experience with data center and call center IT space design and deployment of technology components
- Excellent client interfacing skills, strong verbal and written communication
- Willingness to work 2nd shift with some travel between the 3 Arizona datacenters
- Computer skills and the use of various business applications such as Nlyte, AutoCAD, Remedy, MS Project, and MS Office is required
- Must have strong analytical skills in dealing with troubleshooting layer 1 connectivity at a minimum.
- Familiarity working in DCIM tool (Nlyte): Space design and technology hardware asset inventory within CTAs. This includes power documentation and visibility into accurate vendor hardware maintenance enrollment.
- Technology hardware installation: “Rack & Stack” hardware in CTAs including distributed servers, storage, switch/router, etc.
- Experience in managing an ITAD process: Decommissioning, scanning/documenting and secure vendor transport coordination for recycling or resale of end-of-life IT assets and data sanitization of data bearing devices;
- CTA environmental contact: Main technology POC for Facilities works impacting technology in our Arizona data centers. Wiring Vendor – coordinate duties of onsite wiring vendors to support all aspects of connectivity for CTAs (Computer Room/MDF to IDF); Remote Support for Telecom team – on-site coordination for telco carrier delivery of circuits: vendor access for installation, maintenance, testing, circuit delivery and customer-side Demarc circuit extension.
