Schwab Advisor Custody and Trading (ACT) provides custodial, operational, and trading support to independent fee-based investment advisors (RIAs). As a partner to these independent RIAs, Schwab ACT focuses on meeting their needs and supporting both their business and client goals through collaborative relationships.
The Advisor Services Cost Basis Team supports Schwab advisors with tax, cost basis, and statement inquiries. Daily duties include responding to phone calls about cost basis, tax reporting, statements, and researching corporate actions while providing tailored solutions. We focus on superior customer service and attention to detail. Successful team members are eager learners who thrive in a fast-paced, professional setting.
Key responsibilities may include:
- Answer in-bound calls from Advisors, and internal business partners
- Respond to client and service team requests received via email
- Conduct training for Advisors and Business Partners
- Accurately process statement and cost basis enrollment forms

Required Qualifications:
- Candidates must possess the ability to conduct superior follow-up, along with excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- 6+ months’ Customer Service experience (internships and collegiate activities will be considered)
- Strong organizational and analytical skills. Ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple processes/projects
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Team orientation, enthusiasm, professionalism and strong work ethic with high level of integrity and ethics
- Knowledge in internet-based research, personal workstations/desktop applications
- Intermediate Excel skills- ability to handle large amounts of data using Excel
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or 1+ year experience in the financial industry
- Experience working with regulatory or risk issues preferred
- SIE or Series 7 preferred, but not required
- Cost basis and tax knowledge is preferred but not required.
