A highly skilled and experienced Senior Oracle Database Administrator with expertise in managing and optimizing databases within an Order Management domain. This role is crucial for maintaining the performance, reliability, and security of databases supporting real-time trading operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Installation and Configuration: Install, configure, and upgrade Oracle database software, including setting up the operating system, network, storage, and security parameters.
- Database Management: Create, manage, and maintain Oracle databases, including building storage structures, managing users and security, and managing schema objects like tables, indexes, and views.
- Performance Tuning and Optimization: Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to enhance performance through SQL tuning, indexing, and other techniques.
- Backup and Recovery: Design, implement, and maintain comprehensive backup and recovery strategies, ensuring the integrity and availability of data.
- Security Management: Implement and enforce database security measures, including access controls, authentication, encryption, and auditing.
- Troubleshooting and Support: Diagnose and resolve database-related issues, working with development teams and users to ensure seamless database operations.
- Monitoring and Maintenance: Proactively monitor database health, space utilization, and resource consumption, and perform regular maintenance activities like patching and updates.
- Collaboration: Work closely with developers, system administrators, and other IT professionals to support database-related tasks and initiatives.
- Documentation: Maintain documentation for database configurations, procedures, and standards.
What you have
Required Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Experience: Proven work experience as an Oracle Database Administrator, with knowledge of Oracle database design, coding, and documentation.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in SQL and PL/SQL.
- Experience with Oracle database administration, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with database backup procedures, recovery systems, and Oracle security features.
- Experience with Oracle tools and technologies such as Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM), Oracle Data Guard, and Oracle Recovery Manager (RMAN).
- Knowledge of different operating systems, particularly Linux and Windows.
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
- Flexibility and adaptability to handle various tasks and issues.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or equivalent certification.
- Experience with Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC) and Oracle Data Guard.
- Knowledge of cloud database offerings and migrating applications data from legacy databases.
- Experience with scripting languages like Bash or Python.
