The Senior Manager, Treasury Settlement Services (TSS) leads critical trade verification, settlement, collateral, cash movement, and exception-management activities that support the firm’s Liquidity & Funding Management team. The role is accountable for reliable daily execution, strong controls, and effective coordination across Treasury, banking partners, custodians, technology teams, and other internal stakeholders.
The Senior Manager also supports the implementation, maintenance, and enhancement of trading, collateral, and treasury systems; develops business requirements and test scripts for system changes; and identifies, assesses, and escalates operational, market-infrastructure, banking, and regulatory concerns. This is a People Leader role with one or more direct reports.Expected Outcomes
What you have
- At least 5 years of demonstrated experience in Treasury, settlement services, securities operations, liquidity operations, collateral management, or a related banking or broker-dealer environment, including experience leading professionals or projects.
- Extensive experience working with third-party banks, custodians, clearing organizations, or correspondent settlement processes.
- Strong understanding of trade confirmation and settlement, cash movements, reconciliations, exception management, and operational controls.
- Experience with collateral management concepts and processes, including eligibility, initial and maintenance margin, concentration, and substitutions.
- Knowledge of Treasury Management Systems, trade order management systems, Transcend Street, Bloomberg, Nasdaq Calypso, SWIFT Category 5 securities messages, DTCC / FICC RTTM, custodian platforms, Excel, and reporting or visualization tools such as Tableau.
- Experience with fixed-income securities, derivatives such as interest-rate swaps, and associated collateral requirements. Experience with asset-backed securities principal and interest processing is beneficial.
- Working knowledge of finance and accounting in a banking, broker-dealer, or corporate Treasury environment.
- Excellent analytical, strategic planning, problem-solving, written communication, and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines while maintaining strong attention to detail and sound judgment.
- Ability to build productive relationships with stakeholders at various levels and to influence outcomes across organizational boundaries.
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business, or a related field. A professional Treasury qualification, or progress toward one, is preferred.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead daily Treasury settlement services supporting liquidity execution, including trade verification, cash and securities settlement, collateral movements, payment activity, exception resolution, and timely escalation of breaks or funding impacts.
- Partner with the Liquidity & Funding Management team to align settlement readiness, cash positioning, collateral availability, and operational cutoffs with the firm’s funding and liquidity priorities.
- Oversee settlement and collateral activity with third-party banks, custodians, clearing organizations, and counterparties, including investigation and resolution of failed, delayed, or unmatched activity.
- Establish and maintain controls that safeguard corporate assets, support the integrity of Treasury systems, and enable accurate monitoring, measurement, reconciliation, and reporting.
- Develop business requirements, operating procedures, test plans, and test scripts for system implementations, upgrades, and process changes affecting Treasury settlement and liquidity operations.
- Drive continuous improvement across processes, technology, data, controls, and team capabilities, with a focus on resiliency, automation, scalability, and risk reduction.
- Build partnerships across Treasury, Liquidity & Funding Management, Capital Markets, Finance, Accounting, Risk, Compliance, Internal Audit, Technology, and Operations.
- Identify and escalate banking, market-structure, regulatory, and operational developments that may affect settlement, collateral, payments, or liquidity execution.
- Lead, coach, and develop settlement services professionals; set priorities, clarify accountabilities, and reinforce a culture of control, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Liquidity and Settlement Operations
- Coordinate daily settlement and cash-movement activity with Liquidity & Funding Management to support funding decisions and meet contractual and market deadlines.
- Monitor settlement status, collateral calls, payment flows, expected receipts, and material exceptions; communicate emerging issues and potential liquidity impacts promptly.
- Maintain effective processes for collateral eligibility, initial and maintenance margin, concentration monitoring, substitutions, and related custodian or counterparty activity.
- Support securities, debt, derivative, bilateral and triparty repo . reverse repo activity, and asset-backed security activity, including principal and interest processing where applicable.
Risk, Controls, and Governance
- Identify operational risks and implement robust Treasury controls for ongoing monitoring, reconciliation, measurement, reporting, and escalation.
- Lead control reviews, procedure maintenance, issue remediation, and readiness activities for internal audit and other assurance functions.
- Partner with Compliance on applicable KYC requirements for banking relationships and debt issuance, and support FATCA/CRS classification and reporting activities as assigned.
- Coordinate with counterparty banks and internal stakeholders on audit confirmations, documentation requests, and compliance certificates for debt programs.
Technology and Change
- Own or contribute to requirements, testing, implementation, and production support for Treasury Management Systems, trade order management, collateral, settlement, payment, and reporting platforms.
- Proactively improve models, controls, workflows, and management reporting; advocate for resources and solutions that strengthen operational capability.
- Lead or support cross-functional projects involving internal and external stakeholders, including new products, bank or custodian changes, regulatory initiatives, and platform enhancements.
