We believe in the importance of in-office collaboration and fully intend for the selected candidate for this role to work on site in the specified location.

At Schwab Asset Management (SAM), we are committed to serving investors with integrity, transparency, and strong fiduciary discipline. As a Valuation Oversight Specialist, you’ll play a meaningful role in protecting the accuracy and consistency of investment valuations across our funds, ETFs, and Separately Managed Accounts. Your work helps strengthen investor confidence, support sound governance, and ensure we continue to meet the highest regulatory and ethical standards.

You’ll join a collaborative, learning-focused environment where diverse perspectives are valued, curiosity is encouraged, and continuous improvement is part of how we work. This role offers broad exposure across investment operations and governance and the opportunity to influence processes, reporting, and valuation-related initiatives as you continue to grow your career.

In this role, you’ll apply your analytical judgment, communication skills, and attention to detail to support fair valuation and oversight activities.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Oversee third-party fund administrators and valuation service providers to help ensure security valuations are accurate, timely, and aligned with established pricing policies and procedures.
  • Support the preparation, documentation, and communication of fair valuation analyses and recommendations for governance and pricing committees.
  • Perform routine price tolerance reviews, research valuation exceptions, and help resolve discrepancies using sound judgment and documented analysis.
  • Partner closely with external administrators to review valuation determinations, resolve issues, and maintain clear, effective documentation.
  • Help ensure valuation-related controls are appropriately documented, implemented, and operating as intended.
  • Collaborate with internal partners across SAM, including Portfolio Management, Performance, Fund Accounting, Financial Reporting, Trading, Corporate Actions, Credit Research, Trade Operations, and Governance teams.
  • Prepare management reports, governance materials, and periodic board reporting related to valuation oversight.
  • Contribute ideas to improve efficiency, streamline processes, and support automation or modernization efforts within valuation and oversight activities.
  • Support projects, regulatory initiatives, and ad hoc analysis or presentation needs connected to valuation oversight.
