This Finance Manager opportunity is a vital member of the Finance organization that provides direct financial oversight and decision support for business partners within the Advisor Services enterprise. This role combines both financial planning and ad-hoc analytics in support of various business initiatives. The position provides opportunities to work directly with business leaders and finance department leadership in identifying trends, analyzing financial inputs and creating forecasts. This role has strong business partnering and analytics focus and will require a self-motivated, action-oriented individual who can prioritize, organize, communicate and collaborate to build relationships across departmental lines. This is an individual contributor role.
Success requires strong Analytical Thinking and Problem Solving to turn complex financial and operational data into a clear finance point of view. Through Cross-Functional Collaboration, Communication, and Stakeholder Management, you will build trusted partnerships across Advisor Services and Finance, challenge assumptions, and translate findings into practical recommendations for leadership. This individual contributor role offers meaningful ownership and the opportunity to improve financial reporting, increase process efficiency, and strengthen decision-making as business priorities evolve.
What you have
What you’ll do:
- Build deep expertise of the Advisor Service business and become a valued thought partner with business partners and stakeholders in other areas of Schwab
- Develop and maintain financial plans, partnering closely with functional leaders to create detailed forecasts aligned to strategic goals
- Facilitate financial close activities to analyze and explain monthly, quarterly, and annual variances to budget, forecast, and prior years
- Create client analytics and reporting that will inform important business investment and resource allocation decisions
- Assess the financial impact of new business initiatives, strategic and efficiency initiatives, and project investments
- Establish and communicate a finance "point of view" based on objective, fact- based analysis that is valued by business leaders.
- Build strong partnerships to innovate and drive process efficiencies across the business and finance
- Perform ad hoc analysis related to understanding business trends, business performance, and segment performance
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field)
- 3-5 years of related Financial Planning & Analysis or similar experience
- Strong proficiency in financial analysis, forecasting, and modeling, with robust knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including ability to succinctly synthesize data, develop recommendations, create presentations and present to leadership
- Superior analytical skills with a high level of attention to detail
- Self-motivated, results-oriented self-starter with capability to effectively manage several work streams, deadlines and projects concurrently
- Proficiency in sourcing data from multiple database applications and working efficiently to consolidate and summarize large data sets
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior financial services industry experience preferred
In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities
