Director, Sales and Client Field Enablement

Reporting to the Managing Director, Workplace Services (WS) Experience, the Director, Sales and Client Field Enablement will establish and lead a newly formed team and function focusing on sales and client retention enablement for the Workplace Services enterprise. Workplace Services includes Retirement Services, Stock Plan services, Designated Brokerage, and Retirement Brokerage. This leader and team role will support and enable the significant efforts underway impacting WS Sales Prospects and Clients and the Sales teams and Relationship Managers serving them. The functions exectuing under this Director include Sales and Field Strategy and Planning, Data and Analytics, Tools and Processes and Field Communications.
We believe in the importance of in-office collaboration and fully intend for the selected candidate for this role to work on site in the specified location.It is preferre this position is based in Dallas or Austin.
Key Outcomes:
- Manage day-to-day business operations of Workplace Services including managing communications for sales and client facing teams and serve as the key liaison between business leadership and field teams.
- Create and manage field enablement tools and engagement plans to support Sales and Relationship Manager success and adoption of new initiatives.
- Provide data-driven insights to guide field focus and effectiveness including tracking KPI’s, pipeline health, client engagement, and satisfaction signals.
- Develop and deliver reporting on sales & relationship management performance metrics including build voice of the field feedback loops and driving accountability and continuous improvement
- Equip teams with the right tools, content and operational workflows to support field activation efforts to improve consistency.
- Oversee CRM strategy, playbooks, sales materials and proposal assets
- Lead planning efforts for the enterprise encompassing go to market strategy, client engagement, tiered service and coverage model.
- Identify and implement operational efficiencies and improvements to scale the offer.
- Provide leadership with regular updates on field engagement, operational performance, and initiative progress.
- Establish structure and governance to ensure thoughtful, insightful and high impact delivery of initiatives impacting people, process and technology.
- Partner effectively at all levels within the Workplace Solutions enterprise and other Schwab organizations to ensure strategic and tactical input is provided in all phases of integration design and delivery.
- Prepare executive-level materials, presentations, and business reviews to support client & market intelligence, leadership meetings and decision-making.
What you have
Required Experience:
- 10+years experience in sales leadership and/or client facing-field enablement roles. Some workplace business or experience working with business’ similar scope and complexity desired.
- Demonstrated experience building relationships and working with cross-functional teams to design and deliver client experience initiatives, including evaluating opportunities and making recommendations based on the unique needs of the business.
- Strong background in data and analytics, Sales Force, strategy, and field enablement
- Able to deliver strategic and actionable insights, competitive analysis, and market research to inform product experience and growth.
- Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal, and analytical skills including external communication experience.
- Undergraduate degree is required; MBA a plus
Preferred Experience:
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with all levels of an organization.
- Comprehensive understanding of Workplace Enterprises (Retirement, Stock Plan) and effective client engagement skills.
- Knowledge of brokerage, advised, and banking product/services.
- Ability to make significant progress with minimal direction and to make decisions, pivot, and structure pathways forward in the face of ambiguity
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to gain the respect and support of senior leadership, partners and peers in delivering against our strategy.
- Keen business judgment and ability to effectively make trade-offs in business decision making process and manage risk
- Strong organizational, collaboration, and partnership skills
