DAFgiving360 has entered into a services agreement with Charles Schwab & Co., Inc. for administrative and other services, including human resources. This position will be an employee of Charles Schwab & Co., Inc. and will be subject to its policies and procedures but will report to and be accountable to DAFgiving360 for day-to-day activities.
Our Opportunity
This position, which reports to the Director, Financial & Regulatory Reporting and is chiefly responsible for the monthly closing leading to an annual external audit and the filing of an annual tax return. This position will perform the monthly close, including reconciliation of contribution and grant detail and dividend and fee activity. In addition, the position will perform and assist monthly with employee matching account postings, tax form preparation, alternative investment valuation and various other ad hoc duties. You will primarily be responsible for the reconciliation of supporting schedules used to prepare monthly financial statements. All reporting reconciliations are high volume and require high attention to detail.
Responsibilities include the following:
· Prepare/design database reporting for monthly reconciliations
· Prepare reconciliations as part of the annual external financial audit
· Research employee matching gift account postings
· Assist in ongoing tax reporting
· Assist in annual audit reporting
· Assist in quarterly valuation reporting for Alternative Investments
· Support and participate in organizational initiatives and projects, as needed
What you have
Required Skills:
· Bachelor’s degree required (preferably in Accounting or Finance)
· Attention to detail and accuracy with ability to handle complex regulations surrounding charitable giving
· Minimum 5 years’ experience, with experience in accounting and/or investments, financial services/administration a plus
· Understanding of general ledger accounting, Strong PC skills, including proficiency in Excel spreadsheet, macro, and database applications
· High level of ownership, emotional intelligence, and critical thinking
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment by absorbing and applying complex information quickly
· Well-developed time management skills with the ability to organize, manage and juggle competing priorities
· Attention to detail with an emphasis on accuracy
· Well-developed written and verbal communication skills with the ability to deliver technical information in lay terms
· Highly adaptive, change-positive personality capable of working effectively within a team environment with the utmost professionalism
· An approach to problem-solving using a logical, systematic, sequential approach
· Focus to champion innovation and change by seeking out diverse perspectives to inform continuous improvement opportunities and/or innovative ways to improve
· Flexibility and willingness to work extended hours/overtime during the year-end peak season (mid- Sept through October)
· Flexible to work within the Hours of Operation; Monday thru Friday, 7:00 AM - 6:00 PM MST.
Preferred Skills:
· Knowledge/experience with donor advised funds a plus
· Non-profit tax/accounting knowledge a plus
· Investment valuation (Alternatives) a plus
