As a Specialist in Early Talent and Diversity & Inclusion, you’ll shape the future of inclusive hiring, grow your career and strengthen our Indianapolis community. You’ll lead outreach and recruiting efforts with high schools, colleges, and community organizations, creating meaningful connections that open doors for early talent. During campus recruiting season, you’ll activate university partnerships and collaborate with business leaders to deliver immersive, high-impact experiences. Between cycles, you’ll deepen community engagement—laying the groundwork for future hiring success and driving sustainable talent pipelines.
Your work will bridge strategic outreach with hands-on execution, with every interaction advancing a shared mission: building a workforce that reflects the communities we serve. You’ll be supported by leaders who champion your growth and empower you to design inclusive experiences that resonate with candidates-and with Schwab.
You’ll gain deep insight into Schwab’s campus recruiting strategy, proven partnership models, and tools to engage internal stakeholders. You’ll discover how to transform community relationships into strong talent pipelines—and ensure every touchpoint leaves a lasting impression.
Key Outcomes:
- Design and deliver inclusive recruiting eventsacross Indianapolis, leveraging strong event planning and execution skills to create meaningful experiences that reflect the needs of diverse communities and showcase Schwab’s commitment to service and integrity.
- Cultivate strategic relationshipswith high schools, colleges, and diversity-focused community organizations, using trust-building and long-term engagement to support Schwab’s One Schwab mindset and expand access to opportunity.
- Develop customized outreach materialswith inclusive, audience-specific messaging that resonates with diverse students, veterans, and individuals with disabilities—ensuring each communication connects both personally and professionally.
- Establish and refine scalable outreach processes, applying process design and documentation expertise to monitor relationship depth, measure event impact, and track long-term success in alignment with Schwab’s values of stewardship and innovation.
- Champion inclusive hiring practicesand bias mitigation across all recruiting touchpoints, bringing deep knowledge of equitable hiring into conversations with candidates, partners, and internal stakeholders to foster a culture of belonging.
What you have
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 1–2 years of experience in community engagement, event coordination, recruiting, or related fields.
- Demonstrated ability to build repeatable outreach processes, including documentation and success metrics.
- Proven experience designing and executing events that engage diverse audiences.
- Strong track record of delivering audience-centered messaging and tailoring outreach materials to reflect an inclusive tone.
- Ability to build trust and sustain long-term partnerships with schools, nonprofits, and diversity-focused organizations.
- Willingness to travel locally up to 20%, depending on seasonal and business needs.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with the Indianapolis community, including local organizations and market dynamics.
- Experience managing project plans, tracking milestones, and delivering executive-level reporting
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Knowledge of inclusive hiring practices and bias mitigation strategies.
- Understanding of early talent engagement strategies and campus recruitment platforms such as Handshake.
- Ability to use data to evaluate relationship depth, measure event impact, and connect community engagement efforts to applicant and hiring outcomes.
