Wasmer Schroeder Strategies offer a wide range of fixed income separately managed accounts across the duration, credit, and tax-efficiency spectrums. The choices include actively managed and bond ladder portfolio strategies with both taxable and tax-exempt debt securities. Portfolio management for Wasmer Schroeder Strategies is provided by Charles Schwab Investment Management, Inc.
The Wasmer Trading & Trade Support team provides operational control and oversight to the portfolio managers (PMs) & traders as it relates to daily trade processing, settlements, and ongoing account maintenance. The Specialist is an integral part of the broader team by not only ensuring accuracy of work, but also through open communication and collaboration.
Key job responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Account onboarding and maintenance
- Cash and position reconciliation identifying, investigating, and resolving trade, cash, and position issues
- Trade confirmation, transmission, and settlement
- Communicating with and monitoring our external vendors (brokers, prime brokers, custodians, accountants, etc.) and internal partners
- Security Operations support for corporate actions, security maintenance and valuation
- Follow established risk framework to secure adherence to control environment
- Ensuring data integrity and assisting with system maintenance
- Assist in the completion of Internal Audits and reviews
- Assist in the completion of operational projects
- Find efficiencies by leveraging low tech solutions in our current workflows
- Liaison between operational teams
- Provide support for managers on critical issues
What you have
Required Qualifications:
- 1-2 years of experience in middle office trade operations
- Experience and/or education related to the finance industry
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred
- Experience with separately managed accounts preferred
- Ability to work under pressure and within tight deadlines
- Familiarity with trading and settlement processes for fixed income instruments
- Demonstrate good judgment when selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions
- Ability to work in small groups as well as independently
- Strong communication, teamwork, and relationship building skills
- Ability to identify and solve issues proactively and independently with minimal instruction on day-to-day work in operational processes
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other industry related software
In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.
