Your opportunity

At Schwab, you’re empowered to make an impact on your career. Here, innovative thought meets creative problem solving, helping us “challenge the status quo” and transform the finance industry together.

Charles Schwab Investment Management (CSIM) is the asset management arm of Schwab Asset Management (SAM). SAM is a part of the broader Schwab Asset Management Solutions organization (SAMS), a collection of business units of The Charles Schwab Corporation aligned by a common function—asset management-related services—under common leadership.

As one of the industry’s largest and most experienced asset managers, we offer a focused lineup of competitively priced ETFs, mutual funds and separately managed account strategies designed to serve the central needs of most investors. By operating our business through clients’ eyes, and putting them at the center of our decisions, we aim to deliver exceptional experiences to investors and the financial professionals who serve them.

The Investment Stewardship team is a member of the Product Management and Innovation Group. This Group is responsible for product strategy, product development and management, and client experience for the Schwab ETFs™, Schwab Funds®, and separate account strategies managed by SAM and the Charles Schwab Trust Bank Collective Investment Trusts (CITs).

The Investment Stewardship Team (Team) is committed to ensuring our proxy ballots are voted in the best interests of our shareholders. We accomplish this through in-depth research into corporate governance topics, the development of thoughtful and practical proxy voting policies, and oversight of CSIM’s proxy advisors. The Team also engages with portfolio companies and activist shareholders to gain perspectives that inform our case-by-case analysis, voting decisions and policy development. We also use our engagements with companies to encourage improved corporate governance practices and grow long-term value for shareholders. The Director will be focused on supporting CSIM’s proxy voting activities, including voting proxies, making annual updates to voting policies, and oversight of our proxy voting process and proxy advisors, as well as executing the firm’s strategic engagement program. Responsibilities will also include reporting on the Team’s activities for internal and external purposes.
