The Retail Web Technology (RWT) organization leads the development and ongoing enhancement of Schwab’s Trade Watchlist and Quick Quote experiences for retail clients—individual investors like you.We are seeking a talented Manager - Software Development & Engineering / Sr. Software Developer who thrives as a technical leader and is passionate about using state-of-the-art web technologies to build compelling, interactive applications. Our mission is to deliver robust solutions that create measurable value for our clients in a collaborative, engaging environment.As a Senior Software Developer , you will help design, build, enhance, and support modern web applications that power key retail investing experiences. This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer who enjoys solving complex problems, partnering across teams, and delivering high-quality solutions from concept through production.
• Own delivery across the software development lifecycle, from design and implementation through testing, deployment, and support.
• Build and enhance interactive, scalable web applications using modern front-end and full-stack technologies.
• Partner closely with cross-functional teammates in a collaborative, Agile environment to solve complex business and technical problems.
• Contribute to code quality, application performance, accessibility, and continuous improvement across the development process.
• Leverage AI tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, M365 Copilot) to improve developer productivity, code quality, and delivery speed.
• Apply prompt engineering / skills to accelerate development, debugging, and documentation.
• Contribute to building or integrating AI-powered features, services, or intelligent workflows into applications.
• Support production applications, troubleshoot issues, and strengthen observability through logging, dashboards, monitoring, and alerting.
• Communicate effectively with technical and business stakeholders, and contribute to a culture of mentorship, learning, and shared ownership.

▪ Enhances processes to ensure legal and ethical data compliance, and must have current working experience with Schwab systems and processes

▪ Generates effective QA testing solutions that boost operational performance and product integrity
▪ Enhances business outcomes by partnering with teams to organize and prioritize requirements
▪ Develops security solutions that meet business requirements
▪ Develops software solutions that align with design principles and business objectives
▪ Optimizes software development testing and verification to enhance component reliability and address operational problems
▪ Leads packaging and orchestration to efficiently deliver software deployments
▪ Delivers scalable, business-aligned system design solutions through predictive or adaptive approaches
