Charles Schwab's Marketing Enterprise Risk Management team executes a strategic approach in managing risk across Marketing. This group is responsible for:
- Comprehensive Control Monitoring & Oversight
- Marketing Disclosure Change Management administration
- Centralized S24 Review activities
- Enterprise Risk Management including Record Retention; Business Continuity Planning; Compliance and Audit Reviews
The Senior Manager - Marketing Risk position will reside within the Marketing Risk Operations group reporting to the Director. This role will be expected to collaborate across all levels of Marketing and the respective contacts in Corporate Affairs, Corporate and Business Unit Risks areas, Compliance, 1RMO and Audit professionals to proactively mitigate and eliminate risk. This role will also require the ability to stay current on business and regulatory changes impacting the Marketing enterprise to proactively propose process updates, develop messaging points for communications and share insight for educational opportunities.
Responsibilities Include but Are Not Limited to:
- Partner with other Risk professionals and take the lead on managing multiple Corporate Risk documents, capturing, and validating execution of controls, and consolidating reports which Marketing is responsible.
- Stay current on business and regulatory changes that impact Marketing and proactively propose and implement updates to ensure reports/documents are updated reflecting current conditions and processes, to reduce risk exposure for the business in a timely manner.
- Collaborate across all levels of Marketing and with respective contacts within our Corporate Risk departments.
- Promote business unit awareness leading, capturing and validating controls reducing risk exposure.
- Partner with designated RCSA Coordinator to participate in RCSA control reviews.
- Partner with Risk and Control Assurance Testing (RCAT) and to serve as a point of contact for testing engagements.
- Responsible for partnering with Marketing senior leadership, business contacts, and RCAT to streamline the testing engagement and maximize collaboration across teams.
- Providing consultation, facilitation, and analytical support when coordinating and escalating to Marketing leadership and their team members on impacting efforts.
- Collaborating with executives and management to create, sustain, and strengthen the internal control framework through risk identification and control design and implementation.
- Work across Marketing leaders and departments/groups to resolve issue, gain needed information, and influence outcomes.
- Demonstrate good judgment in developing and selecting solutions to current and emerging Marketing risk issues

Required Qualifications:
- Education: BS/BA degree marketing, risk or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 7+ plus years financial services or risk management experience.
- Experience working collaboratively with various groups with potentially disparate objectives.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong project management skills including the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously while prioritizing based on risk/business needs.
- Exceptional relationship building and partnership skills.
- Naturally curious with a knack for asking the right questions at the right time to promote dialogue and understanding.
- Commitment to continuous learning with a focus on financial services and risk management.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and SharePoint.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Candidates who have a strong knowledge of Schwab products, offers, services, and the unique risks associated with them are strongly preferred.
- Ability to work independently and proactively, with minimum guidance.
- Excellent time management and related organizational skills, including an appropriate sense of urgency, a proactive approach, and a suitable ability to anticipate and manage project lifecycle events, issues, and obstacles.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with all levels of an organization.
- A highly collaborative working style effectively establishing trust and respect.
- Highly organized with high detail orientation.
- Ability to prioritize and deliver on multiple assignments, meet tight deadlines and be effective and decisive under pressure.
- Exceptional client focus and a demonstrated ability to cultivate strong relationships inside and outside the organization.
- Strong emotional intelligence/maturity.
- Series 7/24 (nice to have).
