The Schwab Bank Platform Team creates a collaborative connection between Business and Technology to identify, define, prioritize, and deliver high value Core Banking business capabilities and competitive bank features while optimizing for operations efficiency and scale.
We believe in the importance of in-office collaboration and fully intend for the selected candidate for this role to work on site in the specified location(s).
The SRPS Client Fund Change Support function, within Workplace Financial Services, supports client-requested investment lineup changes for retirement plans, including fund additions, replacements, mapping activity, share class updates, and related operational coordination. This role helps coordinate and execute fund change requests from intake through completion, partnering across Schwab teams, plan sponsors, advisors, recordkeeping partners, and other business stakeholders to deliver accurate, timely, and well-controlled client outcomes.
Primary Responsibilities
• Provide oversight, planning, and execution support for client fund change requests, including fund additions, fund replacements, mapping activity, fund closures, and share class changes.
• Coordinate internal and external stakeholder activities related to fund change events, including plan sponsors, advisors, recordkeeping partners, investment teams, trading, operations, and client service teams.
• Document fund change milestones, required approvals, key dates, and operational dependencies to ensure requests remain on track.
• Review fund change requirements, plan setup details, investment elections, mapping instructions, and participant-impact considerations for accuracy and completeness.
• Prepare, review, and coordinate client-facing and internal communications needed to support fund change events.
• Partner with internal teams to support recordkeeping system updates, trading readiness, blackout timing, transaction processing, and post-change validation.
• Monitor execution risks, escalate issues, and help resolve defects or open items that could impact timing, accuracy, or the client experience.
• Maintain accurate documentation and reporting on fund change status, volume, service performance, and operational outcomes.
• Identify process improvement opportunities that increase consistency, reduce manual effort, and improve the client and participant experience.
What you have
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of experience in the financial services and/or recordkeeping industry, with a concentration in Defined Contribution Plan Services, plan operations, or investment change support preferred.
• Strong Excel skills.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Strong customer focus, including the ability to think in terms of the customer’s perspective and expectations.
• Strong interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving, organizational, decision-making, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Ability to multitask among competing priorities.
• Proficiency using Microsoft applications and familiarity with the systems used by the team.
• Ability to motivate/inspire others to achieve team goals and client satisfaction.
• Willingness to take initiative when faced with a new or challenging situation.
• Ability and willingness to take on a leadership role in the position, including demonstrating support for new ideas.
• Proficiency in plan administration, retirement plan operations, and applicable recordkeeping systems.
Preferred Qualifications
• QKA designation preferred, but not required.
• Experience supporting client fund change requests, investment lineup changes, fund mapping, or related plan operations work
In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.
