Schwab’s Banking and Move Money Technology organization delivers secure, scalable solutions that help clients and advisors transfer assets between accounts. As a Software Developer on the Move Money team, you will build and enhance web applications and services using .Net and Java while applying Problem Solving and sound Decision Making to complex transaction-processing challenges.
You will contribute across the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including application design, development, testing, deployment, and production support. By using API, cloud, database, and automated testing capabilities, you will help improve application reliability, performance, security, and resiliency while reducing issues that could affect clients.
Success requires Cross-Functional Collaboration with developers, product owners, and technology partners, along with Adaptability as priorities and technologies evolve. You will also participate in design discussions, code reviews, troubleshooting, and knowledge sharing while helping the team deliver high-quality solutions and continuously strengthen its engineering practices.
What you have
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- 5+ years of applicable web and service development experience using .Net and Java
- Experience designing, developing, and supporting API-based services in a transaction-processing environment
- Experience applying Problem Solving throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) to deliver reliable and scalable applications
- Experience using SQL or PostgreSQL to develop, manage, or performance-tune database solutions
- Ability to use Communication and Cross-Functional Collaboration to explain technical concepts and deliver solutions with technical and nontechnical partners
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Microsoft Azure or other cloud platforms
- Experience with DevOps and continuous integration and continuous delivery practices
- Experience with Code Review Practices, Unit Testing, Testing Procedures, and Technical Troubleshooting
- Experience contributing to application or platform architecture and solution design
- Experience working within Agile Collaboration or scrum-based delivery teams
- Experience coaching, mentoring, or supporting the development of other team members
- Adaptability and Continuous Learning demonstrated through the adoption of evolving technologies, development practices, and artificial intelligence tools
In addition to the salary range, this role is eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.
