Schwab Technology Services (STS) enables the future of how clients manage their money by delivering innovative, reliable technology solutions that support investing and financial planning.

Within the STS Portfolio & Project Management (PPM) organization, you will partner with business and technology leaders to drive strategic initiatives that help the firm prioritize and execute its most important technology investments.

 As an IT Project Manager, Senior Specialist, you will lead cross-functional projects and program workstreams spanning product development, systems implementation, and technology modernization efforts. This role is aligned to Schwab’s Advisor Services (AS) portfolio supporting the firm’s AS technology solutions to drive technology projects that enable Schwab to provide custodial and trading services to Registered Independent Advisors (RIAs) and a spectrum of solutions to help them grow and sustain their businesses.

Success in this role requires strong project leadership, problem-solving, collaboration, and decision-making skills as you coordinate stakeholders, manage risks and dependencies, maintain integrated delivery plans, and ensure measurable business outcomes are delivered on time, within scope, and with a high level of quality. You will work closely with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, technology teams, and business partners in a dynamic environment where adaptability, accountability, and continuous improvement are highly valued.

What you have


Required Qualifications:

  • 3- 7 years of project management experience leading small to medium-scale projects in product development, technology, systems implementation, or related environments.
  • 3- 7 years of experience utilizing project management tools and artifacts, including Microsoft Project, Jira, Confluence, SharePoint, project budgets, status reporting, and change management processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish project plans, coordinate cross-functional teams, manage competing priorities, and successfully deliver projects through the full project lifecycle.
  • Proven project leadership skills with the ability to mobilize teams, facilitate stakeholder alignment, resolve conflict, and drive accountability for commitments and outcomes.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills with the ability to identify risks, analyze root causes, make informed decisions, and escalate issues when appropriate.
  • Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships and communicate effectively with business, technology, and executive stakeholders.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience within financial services, wealth management, banking, or fintech environments.
  • Experience with Agile (including SAFe), Scrum, and modern software development methodologies.
  • Experience supporting technology portfolios, digital product initiatives, systems integration efforts, or enterprise technology transformations.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage project financials, resource planning, forecasting, and delivery reporting.
  • Experience facilitating cross-functional collaboration across business, technology, and vendor teams.
  • PMP, CAPM, PMI-ACP, or comparable project management certification.
  • Proven learning agility with the ability to quickly adopt new tools, processes, and technologies.

In addition to the salary range, this role is eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities
