Schwab Data’s Analytics Platform Engineering (ADPE) team delivers next-generation cloud data and AI platforms on Google Cloud. This role leads DevOps and automation initiatives that enable reliable, secure, and scalable deployment of enterprise analytics platforms, including Cloud Data Warehouse (CDW) and Operational Data Exchange (ODX). You will drive and owns CI/CD maturity, platform reliability, and developer velocity across data integration, orchestration, and reporting ecosystems. This is a hands-on role working with highly skilled engineers to modernize Schwab’s data platforms at scale.
Key Responsibilities
Core DevOps, DevSecOps & CI/CD Ownership
- Act as the technical owner, leveraging DevOps and DevSecOps expertise to design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for cloud data warehouse and analytics ecosystem platforms
- Develop automation and processes that enable teams to deploy, manage, configure, scale, and monitor applications efficiently
- Monitor and maintain the stability, performance, and reliability of CI/CD environments
- Automating build processes using GitHub, GitHub Actions
- Integrate security and quality controls into CI/CD pipelines, including CodeQL, Veracode, and Sonar
- Develop custom Python‑based checks and validations and integrate them into CI/CD workflows to enforce standards and reduce risk
Cloud Platform Engineering & Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
- Deliver solutions in complex, distributed system environments, with a strong focus on Google Cloud Platform and enterprise data ecosystems, including ETL, BI, and data governance platforms
- Manage and maintain build and deployment infrastructure, including Bamboo agents, SDKs, service accounts, and keys on Unix‑based build servers
- Partnering with development and platform/prod support teams to identify and resolve deployment issues
- Collaborating with other members of the DevOps team to achieve common goals
- Drive continuous improvements to deployment processes, platform reliability, security, and operational efficiency
- Stay current with emerging DevOps, SRE, and cloud technology trends; evaluate and adopt new tools and practices where appropriate
What you have
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
- Minimum 3 years of experience in DevOps, DevSecOps with 2+ years of focused on DevOps and CICD technologies using GitHub based tooling
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team and with cross-functional technical and business teams
- Experience supporting GCP-based data or analytics platforms
- Exposure to financial services or regulated environments
- Experience operating enterprise-scale, highly available data platforms
- Familiarity with automation and operational tooling to reduce manual effort and improve reliability
- Hands-on experience working on DevOps automation for GCP technologies, such as BigQuery, Dataflow, Cloud Composer, and Pub/Sub
- Hands-on experience with DevOps and CI/CD tools like Bitbucket, Bamboo, GitHub, Airflow, Cloud Build
- Hands-on experience with schema management products like Liquibase or Flyway
- Proficient in one or more of the following scripting languages (Bash, Python, Perl and PowerShell)
- Experience with infrastructure‑as‑code and orchestration tools such as Terraform
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools, including Splunk and Google Cloud Logging
- Experience with ETL platforms such as Informatica PowerCenter or Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services (IICS)
- Strong analytical, critical‑thinking, and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to communicate clearly and coordinate effectively with multiple stakeholders, particularly during incidents or outages
- Comfortable working in agile development environments and fostering a collaborative team culture
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in Google Cloud Platform–based data or analytics environments
- Prior exposure to financial services or regulated environments, including data governance and operational controls
- Experience supporting enterprise‑scale data platforms with high availability and reliability requirements
- Familiarity with advanced automation and operational tooling to improve production efficiency and reduce manual effort
In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.
