Defined Benefit Services provides actuarial, administration, and participant services to clients whose objective is to provide an integrated retirement plan experience to their employees and a single-provider servicing solution for all their retirement programs. Schwab Retirement Plan Services, Inc. is a wholly owned subsidiary of The Charles Schwab Corporation. Schwab Retirement Plan Services, Inc. provides recordkeeping, administration, participant education and communication, plan design, consulting, actuarial services, and compliance testing for a total of over 900 defined contribution, defined benefit, and nonqualified retirement plans.
The Actuarial Analyst will be responsible for delivering day-to-day services supporting Schwab’s qualified defined benefit (DB) plan clients. You will also be responsible for delivering customized solutions for special projects and leveraging technology to meet client needs which involves collaborating closely with other team members and frequent client interaction.
Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Work with team members to deliver the annual actuarial services and special projects for assigned clients
- Serve as day-to-day contact for clients
- Process and analyze data and results
- Draft customized client communications
- Prepare annual government reporting
- Support the set-up of work for new clients, including programming of software and establishing databases

Required Qualifications:
- Demonstrated aptitude for solving complex mathematical problems (e.g. Undergraduate degree in Actuarial Science, Math, Statistics, or related area, and successful completion of actuarial exams)
- Ability to quickly learn broad range of skills, processes, and DB subject matter
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to think creatively and to continuously improve the delivery of services.
- Strong oral and written communications skills
- Commitment to achieving industry designations (e.g. Enrolled Actuary)
- Ability to be a team player who is willing and able to contribute at all levels of service delivery
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with defined benefit plan actuarial services and software
