We believe in the importance of in-office collaboration and fully intend for the selected candidate for this role to work on site in the specified location(s).  This role is expected to be in the office 4 days a week.

As a Paralegal in our Trading, Marketing and Operations Legal Group you will provide legal support for contracts related to exchange-traded funds and mutual fund product platforms, including assisting in drafting and negotiating contracts and providing support for contract administration such as tracking of negotiations and maintaining form agreements.  This also includes assisting with researching, reviewing, and interpreting legal documents for validity, content, accuracy, and compliance with applicable regulatory requirements and firm guidelines.

Seeking excellent writing skills and proficient in contract drafting and negotiation, preferably in the financial services industry (e.g., mutual fund services and distribution agreements, data and reporting agreements, etc.).  Ideally familiar with investment products and services offered through a major broker-dealer, and eager to learn new things and apply knowledge to innovate, improve and simplify processes. This is a great opporutnity to work with a collaborative legal team!

Required Qualifications:

  • 5-7 years legal experience in the securities industry (such as in a large broker-dealer or mutual fund firm) or in a law firm with direct contract drafting and administration experience. 
  • Basic familiarity with ETF and mutual fund regulatory filings and ability to research filings on the Securities and Exchange Commission regulatory filing website.
  • Strong contract drafting skills and keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to identify and analyze contractual issues and provide solutions.
  • Desire to engage with counterparties and hone negotiation skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, able to prioritize well, and show flexibility as workloads fluctuate. 
  • Ability to work independently under general direction of legal counsel, and to engage directly with business counterparts on day to day and project initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Paralegal certificate a plus.

In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities
